Day 52: Faith

Note: for our Young Women activity tonight, we were supposed to write poems about faith. I couldn't be there, so I decided I would post my poem here instead.

Faith to move mountains?

I would like faith
to move laundry.

Faith that the life I've chosen
is more than loneliness and Candy Land.

Faith that my children
will learn to pray,
someday.

Faith that what is in front of me,
is better than what is behind me.

It may never be a parted sea,
an ark in a rainstorm,
or a stroll over water,
but I guess I have faith that
my faith
is kindling enough for my own small fire.

Joseph Smith haiku

The trees are on fire.
But there is no heat. Only peace.
I did not expect such light.

I LOVE your faith poem. Can I quote it on my blog someday? :)

I like them both- poetry takes a lot of effort, good job. Denise (ps- how are the broken toes coming along?)

I love it! I feel the same way about faith, minus kids though but still...

I loved the Joseph Smith haiku too very cool, I'm even guilty of finding it humorous...

Love the poems, Becca! Very beautiful.

I think there might be something wrong with the buttons at the bottom though. I was trying to click on "thought provoking", which had a counter at 2 already, and after I clicked that button disappeared completely and instead my "vote" showed up as "funny". Weird.
