Sniff.

I have this really awful habit.

(That got your interest, didn't it???)

Well. I do.

I never bring stuff in from the car.

I'd like to say that it's because my arms are so full of Almost-One-Year-Old child, not to mention Thing 2 who wants "UP" so he can "PUSHTHEBUTTON!" while trying to open the back door, let the cat in, and not trip over or otherwise injure Thing 1 that I just don't have the energy to go back out and gather all the STUFF I left in the car. But there's a good chance that I'm just lazy. So the stuff gets left there.

Which may or may not include the following:
An assortment of children's books.
A toy microphone.
A stale donut.
Empty water bottles.
Rotten baby bottles.
Raisins in the carpet.
Papers. Always. Papers.
Broken Happy Meal toys.
Receipts that I don't remember where they were from or why.
Frosties cups.
Frosties spoons.
deflated pool toys
possibly used swim diapers
1.2 tons of graham cracker crumbs

I think that's a fairly comprehensive list.

But no where on the list are the words "DIRTY SOCKS THAT SMELL LIKE GARLIC WRAPPED IN CABBAGE DIPPED IN FERMENTED BEAN CURD."

So what is that smell in my car?????

hahaha! i have the same problem. i have so much JUNK in my car! i hate it but really it is too much work to go back out there and get all the junk. and my smell is more like a musty mildew scent. can't figure out where it is coming from. i have actually clean the car twice (dejunked, vacuumed, dusted and everything!) to get rid of the smell but it still permeates. i guess i just have to embrace it.

Hopefully not something dead! Spray it all down with vinegar and then let it dry (windows down, if possible). Vinegar is a GREAT deoderant--once it's dry. Good luck!

GREAT! Real life- I love it! The beauty of it is, odds are that are your beloved little Things will grow up to have little Things of their own- making you a grandmother. Then, my dear, you will really come to see the humor in all of this! (I am genuinely sorry that your car stinks-)

Hey, your car and my car should sit next to one another! Then they can talk about how full of crud they are and how their owners never take the stuff in :) I leave cups in my car daily. When the cabinet is empty, I go out and bring them all in. Then, the cabinets are too full for the doors to close :)

Sounds just like my car too, except add to the list a towel, clothes, a scarf, and a million empty coke cans! Oh, and the smell in mine, caused by TFD who pooed in there when Rob took her to visit her potential new owner who didn't make any further contact. Hmmm...
